Austin’s skyline is set to climb higher, see what it will look like in 2018! There’s no question Austin is growing, and the demand for urban downtown living is at it’s strongest ever. Buyers are snatching up everything developers can dream up, from thrifty one room efficiency’s, to lavish mansions in the sky. Come 2018, the Austin skyline will once again change with new buildings reaching higher and higher. The only question is, how long will Austin’s newest tallest hold that title. My bet is not for very long. Remember the Austonian? Finished just 5 years ago, will soon become the cities second tallest.

With the high pace of downtown development and a new major project seemingly breaking ground each week, the Austin skyline of mid-2018 will be vastly different from what we see now.

In the past month alone, tech giant Oracle Corp. announced it will build a 560,000-square-foot campus in East Austin; work started on what will be Austin’s tallest building, the distinctively styled Independent; and a high-profile nonprofit said it might sell its East Austin headquarters, which would open up a prime parcel along Interstate 35.
